The original Bosch Gen2 e-bike lock ring made of aluminium for Active and Performance Line drives (from 2014) is required when mounting a chainring.
The Bosch aluminium lock ring must be used according to manufacturer specifications since mid / end of 2015 always in combination with the matching O-ring. This O-ring can be ordered separately to the product and protects the locking ring from loosening by itself even if the torque of the ring is not applied exactly.
What needs to be considered when working on the drive and when loosening the Bosch lock ring?

- With greased aluminium ring, the correct tightening torque is 20-25Nm.
- The new lockring design allows the use of a 14-tooth chainring.
If the Bosch e-bike chainring lockring is defective, you can use the Bosch lockring to replace the defective part again with an original Bosch part.
